In 1995 I was attending NIU as an art major.  I was taking a painting class as part of my illustration degree requirement.  We came to section where we were instructed to come up with a composition of any kind.  I came up with this sketch and really wanted to paint this at a larger than life scale.   My initial intentions were to depict a very macabre and dark image featuring torture / dungeon themed elements.  As I was working on the painting  it sort of shifted into a cleaner more anatomical look.   After successfully completing the first one (W1)  the instructer suggested I turn it into a series.
